KSrelief Masam Project Honored for Demining Efforts in Yemen
Marib, Yemen, December 13, 2024, SPA -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Clearing Landmines Project has received an award from the Human Rights Office in Marib Governorate, Yemen, in recognition of International Human Rights Day.
Marib Deputy Governor Abd Rabbo Miftah praised Masam's efforts over the past seven years and its significant contribution to protecting civilian lives.
Marib Human Rights Office Director Abd Rabbo Jedeea said the award acknowledges Masam's vital work clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance, protecting innocent lives, and restoring safety and stability across Yemen.
Jedeea highlighted Masam's exceptional work, noting the project has removed 471,842 landmines, unexploded bombs, and other explosive remnants of war, clearing nearly 63 million square meters of Yemeni land. He emphasized that these efforts are crucial for protecting civilians, preserving public and private property, and bolstering security and stability across the country.
