US First Lady Calls for Stronger Collaboration, Partnerships to Address Global Challenges
Doha, December 07 (QNA) - HE First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden underscored the significance of the Doha Forum and its theme this year, "The Imperative of Innovation." She stressed that the first imperative in this context is collaboration among all, regardless of their backgrounds, experiences, and regions, urging everyone to join forces to create something new that the world has never seen before.
In her opening remarks at the Doha Forum today, Dr. Biden emphasized that this collective effort is about building stronger partnerships and embracing innovation to ensure well-being and prosperity for all. She added that a thriving and bright world can be our shared opportunity, and that all must work together with collaboration, understanding, and the ability to seize opportunities to successfully write this story.
She also highlighted the urgent global challenges the world is facing, which require collective action to find solutions. Among these challenges is climate change, including carbon emissions, water scarcity, rising temperatures, melting ice, and storms. Dr. Biden stressed that it's crucial for everyone to collaborate to tackle these issues, using new innovations to mitigate their impact, build resilient communities, and share the best ideas and solutions so they reach everyone quickly.
Another area she called for attention to is research on women's health, noting that innovations worldwide can help bridge the gaps in health and other sectors among people. She committed to continuing her work to bridge this gap and advance research in women's health, inviting participants to consider her a partner in improving global health and well-being.
Dr. Biden reminded the audience that pandemics, hunger, poverty, and violence are challenges without borders, and it is everyone's shared responsibility to address them and work together to close gaps and build peace is essential for ensuring people can live with dignity.
She concluded by emphasizing that the world's progress doesn't rest solely on scientists and researchers but also requires collaboration between governments, private sector, and non-governmental organizations to ensure everyone benefits.
