Syrian, Iraqi FMs discuss situation in Syria, strengthen bilateral cooperation
Baghdad, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister Bassam Sabbagh met Friday with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein in the Iraqi capital.
Meeting dealt with the dangerous situations and developments in Syria resulting from the large-scale terrorist attack launched by the terrorist “al-Nusra front” and “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” on the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib and Hama.
The two foreign ministers stressed the importance of working in a coordinated manner to ensure regional security in the face of current challenges.
Minister Sabbagh stressed that these dangerous developments didn’t pose a threat to Syria’s security, but to the security of the region as a whole, stressing the need to mobilize all Arab and regional efforts to confront this terrorist threat, re-establish security and stability in Syria, and prevent its spread to other countries.
For his part minister Hussein said that his country is following the developments in Syria with great interest in the light of their direct impact on the region’s security and stability.
