Qatar Participates in Arab League's Events Marking International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People

Cairo, December 01 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the events organized by the Arab League's General Secretariat on Sunday at its headquarters in Cairo, marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls on Nov. 29 each year.
Deputy Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League Maryam Ahmed Al Shibi led the State of Qatar's delegation.
These events were held with the participation of Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and Head of Palestinian and Occupied Arab Territories Sector Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini, permanent delegates to the Arab League, and a number of ambassadors and representatives of foreign countries as well as Arab and international organizations.
The events highlighted solidarity with the Palestinian people in their just struggle and fight to regain their legitimate rights to freedom and independence, end the occupation, and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Every year on Nov. 29, various events are held to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was approved by the United Nations in 1977. This year, the occasion comes as the Israeli occupation continues its war on the Gaza Strip for the 14th consecutive month. (QNA)
