SDRPY Provides Development, Economic Empowerment to Yemeni Women, Youth

    Aden, November 21, 2024, SPA -- The development projects and initiatives provided by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) immensely contributed to the economic empowerment of women, youth, and communities, investing in human capital, supporting livelihoods, and strengthening rural resilience.
   The programs focus on building the capacities of local communities in various fields, providing training, consultancy, and rehabilitation support for cadres in many vital sectors.
   The development programs and initiatives provided under SDRPY are centered around capacity building and investing in the potential of Yemeni youth to improve their lives, serve their communities, and build a promising future.
   Among these efforts is the "Building the Future for Yemeni Youth" program, which helped connect young Yemenis to the labor market by training them and empowering them with the necessary skills to create projects that meet local needs. The program targeted university students in their final years and aspiring entrepreneurs, graduating 678 young men and women in various professional fields and linking them to job opportunities, enabling them to start their own businesses.
   The "Saba Project for the Economic Empowerment of Yemeni Women” contributed to the establishment of the first women's business incubator in Marib, training 60 women with the skills needed to launch their own projects.
   In the education sector, SDRPY launched the "Access to Education in Rural Areas" project, which aims to provide 150 girls with a higher diploma and prepare them to teach in public schools.
   As part of its sustainable development programs and initiatives, the "Using Renewable Energy to Improve Quality of Life Project Concludes in Yemen Project" aims to provide water using solar-powered systems, deliver solar-powered irrigation systems for agriculture, supply energy to educational and healthcare facilities, contribute to increasing agricultural production, improve food security for Yemenis, and protect the environment by reducing carbon emissions while providing a sustainable energy source. The project has benefited over 62,000 people across five Yemeni governorates.
   These programs and initiatives are part of 263 projects and initiatives that SDRPY implemented across eight vital sectors:  education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, strengthening the Yemeni government’s capacities, and development programs in various Yemeni governorates.
