Seminar at G20 Culture Ministers' Meeting Highlights Saudi Arabia's Efforts to Address Impact of Climate Change

Salvador, November 10, 2024, SPA -- Brazil, the 2024 G20 president, organized here an international seminar titled "Culture and Climate Change" as part of the cultural track programs and events accompanying this year's G20 Summit held under the theme "Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet."
The Saudi Heritage Commission participated in a discussion session titled "Challenges of Climate Change on Cultural Heritage", in which heritage expert Dr. Adnan Al-Jaber shared the Kingdom's experience in addressing the impact of climate change and the challenges posed by natural disasters such as floods and storms on cultural heritage sites.
He stressed the importance of tackling these challenges to preserve and sustain cultural assets as enduring symbols of nations and peoples that enable future generations to connect with their history and culture.
The presidency's cultural track priorities include protecting cultural heritage, leveraging the digital environment while safeguarding intellectual property rights, and promoting a creative economy for sustainable growth and social inclusion. These priorities build on the discussion themes set by Saudi Arabia during its 2020 G20 presidency and subsequent presidencies.
