Barcelona Likely To Host Final Race Of 2024 MotoGP Season

SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia),  Nov 3 (Bernama) -- The final race of the 2024 season of the World Motorcycle Championships (MotoGP) will likely be held in Barcelona soon, Dorna Sports Chief Sporting Officer Carlos Ezpeleta said.

He added that they were currently in discussion with Catalonia government to hold the last race there. 

“During the last 48 hours, we've looked at all the possible alternatives and we think that Barcelona was the best possible place, given the proximity to Valencia.

“Given that a lot of people are already traveling through Barcelona and to Valencia, especially for the fans, we think it's the best possible place,” he said in a video uploaded on MotoGP website Sunday, adding that the venue will be confirmed within the next 48 hours.

The last race of the season, which was supposed to take place in Valencia, Spain, on Nov 15 to 17, has been cancelled due to heavy flooding.

Dorna Sports is the exclusive commercial and TV rights holder for MotoGP.
