Arab League chief says Iran's stability is crucial for region
Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa stressed that Iran’s stability is crucial for all regional states.
In an exclusive interview with the Kuwaiti based daily al-Anba’, he reiterated that the recent issues in Iran are the domestic affairs of this country.
“Iran is considered as a brotherly and neighboring state in the region,” he said, adding Iran-Arabs relations should be based on cooperation and settlement of issues through dialogue and peaceful means.
Asked about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, Moussa said there is no reliable document proving Iran’s nuclear program was for military purposes.
He reiterated that the only country enjoying nuclear weapons in the region is Israel.
Underlining the need for the Mideast free from nuclear weapons, he said the existence of nuclear weapons in Israel is against non-proliferation principles .
