SHAMS to Organize First International Symposium on Conservation of Red Sea Turtles on November 3-6

Jeddah, November 1, 2024, SPA -- The First International Symposium for the Conservation of Sea Turtles in the Red Sea will be held in Jeddah from November 3 to 6 under the theme "Towards the Future: Advancing Sea Turtle Protection in the Red Sea through Science, Collaboration, and Innovation," with the participation of an elite group of local and international experts and researchers.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture elaborated that the symposium, organized by the General Organization for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea (SHAMS), will examine the latest scientific research, explore innovative solutions to protect endangered species, and foster international collaboration. Over 30 experts will share their insights through presentations and panel discussions.
The symposium will serve as an important platform to develop effective strategies for safeguarding sea turtles and ensuring the sustainability of their Red Sea habitat. The event is part of initiatives by the Shams Organization to protect sea turtles, raise environmental awareness, and establish advanced conservation policies. By fostering innovation and scientific collaboration, the organization aims to ensure the long-term survival of marine species and their natural habitats while solidifying the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position in marine environmental protection.
