SAFF Highlights Saudi Bid for Hosting FIFA World Cup 2034™ at AFC Presidents and Secretaries General Conference 2024 in Republic of Korea
Seoul, November 01, 2024, SPA -- The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) showcased the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034™ during the AFC Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) Presidents' and General Secretaries' Conference 2024, which was hosted by the Korean capital Seoul under the title "Building and Leading Great Organisations" on the sidelines of the AFC Awards ceremony for 2023.
During the session presenting the Kingdom's bid to host the 2034 World Cup, SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal affirmed that the bid has received unprecedented historical support from over 170 federations. The support for hosting the World Cup is a reflection of the great confidence of the international community.
"Fans of Saudi and Asian football are eagerly anticipating December 11, when FIFA will convene an extraordinary general assembly to announce the host country for the 2030 and 2034 World Cups," Al Misehal said, asserting that hosting the World Cup is a dream come true for people who have consistently demonstrated a strong passion for the football.
Then, SAFF Secretary General Ibrahim Al-Qasim provided a presentation for an elite group of football pioneers and experts from around the world, showcasing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's potential to host the global event, as it will be the sole country to host the World Cup on its own in the new format.
The conference was inaugurated on Wednesday in the presence of FIFA president Gianni Infantino, AFC president Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and the presidents and secretaries general of national and regional federations.
