Education Minister opens ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 educational forum

Manama, Oct. 24 (BNA): Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for the International School Games (ISF) Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, opened the educational forum accompanying the event, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The forum took place at the Exhibition World Bahrain, with the participation of international officials, including Youssef Belqasmi, First Vice Presiden of the ISF, and Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Asmi, Director-General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.
The forum focused on the development of school sports, their integration into educational curricula, and their alignment with sustainable development goals, while also promoting a healthy lifestyle for students.
Dr. Juma emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to advancing school sports, noting that this aligns with the country’s broader national strategy under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He highlighted the role of sports in supporting students' physical and mental well-being, contributing to their academic and personal success.
The event also featured an educational exhibition, showcasing student projects related to sustainability and sports.
Key discussions included enhancing youth skills through sports, promoting healthy lifestyles, and benefitting from school sports to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals. Speakers, including experts from international sports organisations and educational institutions, focused on how to build a foundation for lasting sporting success in schools.
Shaikh Dr. Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, concluded the forum by highlighting Bahrain’s efforts to enhance sports activities in schools and universities.
