Kyrgyzstan plans to launch 100 industrial facilities annually

"We are moving to large-scale industrialization of the economy - from now on we will launch 100 industrial facilities every year," Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov said, addressing a gala event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that an innovative approach, technological literacy and engineering thinking are necessary to achieve success.

"We see how Kyrgyzstan is turning from a small link on the world map into an important transportation hub connecting countries and continents. We were able to build the work so that the country's GDP last year exceeded the mark of KGS 1.2 trillion, this year GDP figures will reach KGS 1.5 trillion. For 3 years we have managed to increase the country's budget by 3 times," he said.

Zhaparov added that according to the research of the International Republican Institute, 82% of the country's population supports the course of the president's work. According to the Handbook of the Central Intelligence Agency of the U.S. Government on the countries of the world - at the end of 2023, Kyrgyzstan entered the top 30 countries in real GDP growth rate among 220 countries in the world. According to the Global Peace Index in 2024, Kyrgyzstan has made a significant breakthrough, taking 77th place in the rating out of 163 countries of the world, thus improving its position by 24 positions at once - from 101st place in 2023. This indicates the strengthening of the country's national security and establishment of stability. According to the World Bank's assessment of the real GDP growth rate for 2024, Kyrgyzstan has entered the TOP of leading countries among "fast-growing economies" in Europe and Central Asia.

Akylbek Zhaparov continued that by 2030 new tools for effective management of state assets will be introduced, investments will be attracted through modern platforms.

The World Bank classification runs that Kyrgyzstan is steadily rising in terms of GDP per capita and could become an upper-middle-income country by 2030, moving from the current state of a lower-middle-income country.

"By 2030, we should reach the GDP indicator of $30 billion," Akylbek Zhaparov concluded.
