Zionist regime, main culprit in abduction of Iranian diplomats: FM
– Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki stressed on Saturday that the Zionist regime is the main culprit in the abduction of Iranian nationals in Lebanon in 1982.
Addressing a ceremony commemorating the Iranian nationals kidnapped by the pro-Zionist forces, he said Tehran is following up the case seriously.
The then Charge d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut Mohsen Mousavi, Iranian diplomat Taqi Rastegar-Moqaddam, Iranian military attaché Ahmad Motevasselian and IRNA photojournalist Kazem Akhavan were kidnapped in 1982 while being escorted by the Lebanese police on their way home from a mission in northern Lebanon.
Referring to the Zionist entity as an illegitimate regime, Mottaki said Israel is by no means committed to international laws.
Briefing the audience on the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the past decades, he said the Israeli crimes are being committed as a result of the failure of the regime’s policies in the region.
Commenting on the Zionist regime’s new ploy in the region, the Iranian foreign minister stressed that its moves are aimed at making the regional states passive.
