Malaysian Delegation To AIPA Feted At Dinner

VIENTIANE, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian delegation to the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) was tonight feted at a dinner here.

The dinner was held at the residence of Malaysian Ambassador to Laos Edi Irwan Mahmud.

Dewan Rakyat (lower house of the Parliament of Malaysia), Speaker Johari Abdul is leading the Malaysian Parliament delegation to the four-day assembly.

He is accompanied by Pahang State Assembly Speaker Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, three senators and 11 MPs.

The Malaysian senators are Dr Zurainah Musa, Abun Sui Anyit, and Roderick Wong, while the MPs are Wong Chen (Subang), Awang Hashim (Pendang), Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (Ledang), Young Syefura Othman (Bentong), Syerleena Abdul Rashid (Bukit Bendera), Cha Kee Chin (Rasah), Azli Yusof (Shah Alam), Yusof Abd Wahab (Tanjong Manis), Rodziah Ismail (Ampang), Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (Pasir Mas), and Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari (Sungai Petani).

Tomorrow, Laos, as the current AIPA Chair, will symbolically hand over the chairmanship to Malaysia.
