Environment Minister Meets with Several Counterparts on the Sidelines of the Arab Ministers of Environment Council
Jeddah, October 17, 2024, SPA -- Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley held a series of meetings with ministers and officials in the field of environment to explore and enhance cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and several countries. These meetings took place on the sidelines of the Green Middle East Initiative and the 35th session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, which was chaired by the Kingdom in Jeddah.
Minister Al-Fadley discussed with Yemen's Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi aspects of cooperation between the two countries in environmental conservation, particularly in marine environments. He also explored ways to strengthen cooperation with Egypt’s Minister of Environment Dr. Yasmine Fouad in various environmental fields.
In the same context, Minister Al-Fadley met with Iraq’s Deputy Minister of Environment Dr. Jassim Hammadi to discuss collaboration on environmental issues, especially in combating sand and dust storms and desertification. Additionally, he engaged with the Secretary-General of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) Dr. Ziad bin Hamza Abu Ghararah discussing PERSGA’s efforts and activities, as well as enhancing its regional role in preserving the marine environment and its resources.
The meetings held by Minister Al-Fadley focused on joint efforts with regional countries to address environmental challenges, contributing to achieving a better environmental future for upcoming generations.
