Kyrgyzstan interested in co-op with all CA countries, Republic of Korea: MP

Chairman of the Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Jogorku Kenesh Daniyar Tolonov spoke at the Second Meeting of Heads of Parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) on Oct. 14, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.

Thus, addressing the session “Economic cooperation, digital economy and industry”, the MP emphasized the issues of building up relations in these areas. He noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in cooperation with all countries of the Central Asian region, as well as the Republic of Korea in all areas.

Along with this, Daniyar Tolonov spoke about the current state of Kyrgyz-Korean relations.

“One of the effective mechanisms for the development of bilateral relations is the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. Thanks to the decisions made within the framework of the said commission, there have been positive developments in cooperation in the spheres of trade, industry, agriculture, health care, tourism, culture, digitalization,” the Kyrgyz deputy said.

He also stressed that Kyrgyzstan seeks to take its rightful place in the world economy, and gave detailed information about the country's investment opportunities. Tolonov added that there are ample opportunities to attract investment in projects in agriculture, mining, tourism, digitalization and machine building.

“Thanks to our joint efforts, we will be able to develop economic cooperation between Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea,” the head of the Committee said.
