European company to provide Internet to 328 villages of Kazakhstan

Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, who is paying an official visit to Luxembourg, has had a meeting with the heads of major European companies, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The Kazakh foreign minister held a meeting with Hendrik Sarens, Director and member of the Executive Board of Sarens. According to the Belgian businessman, his company had been implementing several projects in Kazakhstan for a long time. In his words, the meeting focused on the prospects for expanding Sarens’ activity in Kazakhstan, including the implementation of a number of new infrastructure projects.
A delegation of Cargolux, Europe's biggest all-cargo airline, expressed interest in expanding flights to Kazakhstan and using domestic airports’ infrastructure.
The representatives of SES, a Luxembourgish satellite telecommunications network provider, expressed interest in providing Internet to hard-to-reach settlements in Kazakhstan. The company emphasized its readiness to provide 328 settlements of Kazakhstan with stable Internet through the European satellites. The project is implemented at the expense of the European Commission under the EU - Central Asia Digital Connectivity conceptual approach.
Earlier Kazinform reported that Murat Nurtleu is set to participate in the 21st meeting of the Kazakhstan-EU Cooperation Council.
