Saudi Arabia Participates in Meeting of GCC Ministerial Committee for Post, Telecommunications in Qatar

Doha, October 10, 2024, SPA – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has participated in the 28th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Committee for Post and Telecommunications held Wednesday in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Representing Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, Digital Government Authority Governor Ahmed Mohammed Al-Suwaiyan, led the Kingdom’s delegation at the meeting.
Discussions covered enhancing growth of the digital economy, innovation, and artificial-intelligence solutions, as well as advancing digital government development among GCC countries.
Al-Suwaiyan also took part in the eighth meeting of the Ministerial Committee for E-Government, where he extended an invitation for attendees to join the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2024, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from December 15 to 19.
He emphasized the importance of the IGF in exchanging expertise and addressing digital technology challenges on a global scale.
During their visit, the Saudi delegation toured various leading Qatari technology and digital innovation centers, including the Qatar National Library, Qatar Science and Technology Park, TASMU Innovation Lab, Government Contact Center, and Mada Center.
The visits were aimed at identifying opportunities for collaboration and sharing successful experiences in the realms of innovation and modern technologies between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
