President Zhaparov’s working visit to Russia completed

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov's working visit to the Russian Federation, which took place on Oct. 7-8, is completed, his press service reported.

The head of state took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CHS).

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergei Lebedev also attended the meeting.

The meeting of the CIS CHS was held in a narrow and extended formats, following which heads of CIS member states signed a number of documents aimed at enhancing cooperation between the countries within the Commonwealth.

In his speech, Sadyr Zhaparov drew the attention of leaders of the countries to the fact that Kyrgyzstan is actively adapting to new realities, building in the process of reformatting international logistics and creating alternative models of economic interaction with the nearest and traditional partners. He also noted that the country will continue to support cooperation within the CIS and the development of friendly relations between the countries.

Having completed his working visit to Russia, President Zhaparov returned to Bishkek in the evening on Oct. 8.
