Kyrgyz leader negotiates with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni within the framework of his official visit to Italy.

The talks were preceded by an official welcoming ceremony at the Palazzo Chigi.

Sadyr Zhaparov and Giorgia Meloni went around the guard of honor and then took a joint photo.

Further during the talks, the sides exchanged views on the development of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Italy, as well as prospects for cooperation in the areas of investment, energy, transportation, logistics, tourism and other key areas.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, welcoming the Kyrgyz leader, emphasized that this visit is a good opportunity for further development of Kyrgyz-Italian relations.

She confirmed Italy's readiness to strengthen ties with Kyrgyzstan.

“The main purpose of my official visit is to confirm that Kyrgyzstan is a reliable partner of Italy. We highly value friendly relations with Italy and seek to further strengthen them,” Zhaparov outlined, assuring his personal determination and the determination of his team to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, he noted that today Kyrgyzstan is actively moving towards sustainable development, reforms are being carried out in almost all key areas of the country's life. Sadyr Zhaparov added that one of the main tasks today is to strengthen international cooperation and attract foreign investment. In this regard, Italy is one of the promising partners for Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the conversation, the Kyrgyz leader invited Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
