Chui, Osh Oblasts become twinned with Russia’s Omsk

Kyrgyzstan's Chui and Osh Oblasts have become twinned with Omsk Oblast of Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

On Sept. 17-19, with the assistance of the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Novosibirsk, First Deputy Governor of Chui Oblast Samat Ismanov and Deputy Governor of Osh Oblast Ilyaz Tashbaev, as well as business representatives and entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan, paid a working visit to Omsk Oblast to participate in the 4th Forum of Heads of Regions of the SCO member states.

Within the framework of the Forum, with the assistance of the Consulate General, agreements on the implementation of international and foreign economic relations in trade and economic, scientific and technical, social, cultural and humanitarian spheres were signed between the Offices of Osh and Chui Oblasts' Governors.

In addition, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Office of Chui Oblast Governor and the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center" of the Russian Federation, with the intention to strengthen cooperation for the development of agro-industrial complexes of Chui Oblast and Omsk Oblast on the issues of breeding and seed production; agricultural mechanization; agro-technology and digitalization; veterinary medicine; scientific support; advanced training of employees.
