Akylbek Zhaparov: Kyrgyzstan made “leap of leopard" in economy

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Development of Economic Thought: Research and Solutions".
The conference was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast and the 75th anniversary of Tolobek Kamchybekov, an outstanding economist of Kyrgyzstan, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
In his speech, Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized the importance of the role of science in the development of the country's economy and noted the contribution of Tolobek Kamchybekov to the formation of economic thought in Kyrgyzstan.
He also spoke about the economic indicators of the republic, characterizing them as a "leap of the leopard".
"According to macroeconomic indicators, the country's GDP growth rate amounted to 8.7%, and excluding Kumtor - 10.6%, the nominal volume of GDP in 2023 exceeded KGS 1.2 trillion, and this year, according to forecasts, will reach KGS 1.5 trillion. Implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad construction project has begun. This is a strategically important project for Kyrgyzstan. The material and technical base of the country has been renewed. Over the last 3 years we have built 2 thousand kilometers of roads, the industrial sector of the country is being revived. From a country that did not produce a nail, we have turned into a country that produces cars", concluded the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
