CJ Group, Saudi Arabia Explore Cultural Collaboration

Riyadh, September 25, 2024, SPA -- CJ Group Chairman Lee Jay Hyun has concluded a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia during which opportunities for collaboration in the cultural industry were explored.
The trip, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture and began on September 4, aimed to foster potential partnerships.
Lee met with high-level government officials from the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) to explore possibilities to partner in various cultural sectors, a goal in the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030.
According to a Ministry of Culture press release, CJ Group has a strong history of collaboration with Saudi Arabia, which successfully hosted the iconic K-pop event KCON for two consecutive years. The group's relationship with Saudi Arabia has been further strengthened by a meeting between His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Lee.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture also extended an invitation to visit the ancient city of AlUla where the CJ delegation toured AlUla Studios, a film production studio with a 25,000-square-foot sound stage, and explored ways to leverage local infrastructure to collaborate on content creation and tourism.
During his recent visit, Lee expressed admiration for Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage and potential. He said that by combining CJ Group's expertise in culture, entertainment, and music with Saudi Arabia's rich cultural resources, the two parties can create unique synergies in the global market.
CJ Group, the release said, is keen to expand its business in the Middle East and North Africa region, with particular focus on Saudi Arabia, and believes that its strategic partnership with the Kingdom can provide a strong foundation for growth in the region.
