Gambian President Receives SFD CEO
Makkah, September 22, 2024, SPA --President of the Republic of The Gambia Adama Barrow received today at his residence in Makkah, during his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed the development projects and programs funded by the SFD to support vital sectors in Gambia and ways to enhance development cooperation between the two sides.
The SFD has shown significant support for development sectors in Gambia. Since 1977, it has provided 12 development projects and programs in the sectors of transport, education, water, and economic development support, totaling over $171 million. Additionally, the Government of the Kingdom has allocated five grants to Gambia through the SFD, amounting to over $43 million, to support social growth and economic prosperity in the water, sanitation, and energy sectors.
