Kyrgyz ambassador in Baku takes part in round table on climate change issues

On September 17, 2024, in Baku, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov took part in the international Round table “Common regional climate strategy - the key to sustainable development in Eurasia. Challenges and benefits for the business community of Azerbaijan”.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies and business structures of Azerbaijan, officials of the Eurasian Economic Commission (via videoconference), heads and staff of diplomatic missions of the CIS countries, as well as Azerbaijani and Russian experts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

In his speech during the round table, Maksat Mamytkanov outlined the problems of melting glaciers in mountainous countries due to global climate change and expressed a request to support Kyrgyzstan’s mountain initiatives put forward within the framework of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
