Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan discuss priorities for development of cargo transportation by road

On September 12-13, 2024, a meeting of working groups of representatives of state customs, border services and the Ministries of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Dostuk and Dustlik border customs posts in the Osh and Andijan regions, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.
During the meeting, issues related to the development of bilateral cargo transportation along the Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan - China route were discussed.
Measures to prevent traffic jams and congestion resulting from traffic through border customs posts were also considered.
The cargo transportation along the Tashkent - Andijan - Osh - Irkeshtam - Kashgar transport corridor began in February 2018. If, along the previously existing corridor, cargo was delivered from Uzbekistan to China in 8-10 days, then along the new route it takes only 2 days.
