Kyrgyz education minister discusses cooperation with US ambassador

Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva met with Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kyrgyz Republic Lesslie Viguerie.
The Education Ministry reported that the sides discussed global partnership, cooperation within the framework of the USAID project "Okuu Keremet!", "Education of the new generation / Next Generation Education" and other educational programs.
The minister said that a license was received from the Singapore publishing house Marshall Cavendish for 32 titles of international educational and methodological complexes, including English textbooks for grades 1-6, and now the books are being translated from English into Kyrgyz and Russian.
Ambassador Lesslie Viguerie noted that the U.S. Embassy has been supporting the professional development of English teachers for the past 5 years through the Next Generation Education project and the Master's program for English teachers. He expressed readiness for active cooperation to implement a sustainable method of professional development. Ambassador Lesslie Viguerie also added that the main goal is the development and dissemination of the English language in Kyrgyzstan.
