Under HRH Crown Prince’s Patronage, Third Annual Global AI Summit to Start Tuesday

Riyadh, September 09, 2024, SPA -- Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the third annual Global AI Summit will begin Tuesday.
The summit will take place September 10 to 12 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
Organized by SDAIA, the summit will feature over 450 international speakers and be attended by numerous local, regional, and international figures, economic policymakers, and elite artificial-intelligence (AI) specialists from 100 countries.
The convening of the summit in Riyadh affirms the Kingdom’s status as a leading nation in organizing and managing major global summits under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince.
It also highlights the Kingdom as a hub for innovation and creativity in various fields, including AI.
The summit's proceedings further strengthen the Kingdom's global mission to fully harness the potential of AI for the benefit of all humanity.
The summit represents a successful step, crowning five years of hard work undertaken by SDAIA to strengthen the Kingdom's role as an influential international voice on various issues of concern to the global community, including individuals and governments.
Among these issues are data and AI technologies, which have become a significant factor in many aspects of life. This comes within the framework of ongoing support from HRH the Crown Prince and SDAIA Chairman, enabling the authority to play its developmental role in these advanced technologies and position the Kingdom as a global hub for cutting-edge technologies and AI.
The summit, through its constructive dialogues, will contribute to shaping the future of AI and how to optimize its benefits for human societies. This aligns with the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, consistent with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The number of speakers at the summit has reached more than 456 experts, representing a distinguished group of AI specialists and scientists, participating alongside their local counterparts in 150 sessions. So far, the number of registered participants has exceeded 32,000.
The summit will witness the launch of more than 25 local and global initiatives and the signing of over 70 agreements.
Additionally, it will feature events that contribute to knowledge and intellectual exchange with countries around the world in the field of AI.
The third annual summit is set to discuss ways to enhance international cooperation in data and AI through key developmental and vital topics.
These include innovation and industry in AI, shaping a better future for AI on both local and global levels, the integration between human intelligence and AI, generative AI, AI ethics, AI processors and infrastructure, and the impact of AI on the growth of smart cities.
