President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Welcomes President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin
Ulaanbaatar, September 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is paying an official visit to Mongolia on September 2-3, 2024.
On September 3, 2024, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa welcomed President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at Sukhbaatar Square. Upon a report of the Commander of the State Honor Guard, the National Anthems of the two countries were performed. The two Presidents paid tribute to the State Ceremonial White Military Banner, and President Vladimir Putin greeted the State Honor Guard of Mongolia. The two Heads of State greeted the Mongolian and Russian state and government officials.
Then, the two Presidents paid tribute to the statue of the Great Emperor Chinggis Khaan. Following the Welcoming Ceremony, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed the Book of Honored Guests at the State Palace of Mongolia.
During the visit, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will hold a tête-à-tête and official talks as well as participate in the Document Signing Ceremony to expand relations and cooperation between the two countries in energy, oil, and environment. Also, the two Heads of State will hold a press briefing on the outcomes of their official talks.
In 2019, Mongolia and the Russian Federation signed a Treaty on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The two countries established diplomatic relations on November 5, 1921, and reciprocally opened their embassies in Ulaanbaatar and Moscow in 1922.
