Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Pays Courtesy Call on President of Slovenia
Ulaanbaatar, August 20, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve, paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Nataša Pirc Musar, who is on a State Visit to Mongolia at the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa on August 20, 2024.
Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan noted that shared values such as democracy, human rights, freedom, and the rule of law bring the two countries closer together and that the relations and cooperation are steadily strengthening. The Chairman expressed his pleasure at the issuance of the Mongolia-Slovenia Joint Declaration, an important document, which outlines the future direction and scope of cooperation between the two countries, during this historic visit.
President Nataša Pirc Musar congratulated Mongolia on the successful parliamentary elections held in June, 2024, and emphasized the significant role of the relations between the legislative bodies in expanding and developing the traditional friendly relations between Mongolia and Slovenia. The President noted the successful implementation of female leadership in Slovenia, including the high-ranking positions of the President, Speaker of the National Assembly, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and member of cabinet. President Nataša Pirc Musar also congratulated Mongolia for its active efforts in increasing women's participation and promoting gender equality both domestically and internationally.
Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Slovenia were established on February 18, 1993, and last year marked the 30th anniversary of the relations. This is the first State Visit by the President of Slovenia to Mongolia, reported the Media and Public Relations Department of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.
