Cooperation Documents Signed Between Mongolia and Slovenia
Ulaanbaatar, August 20, 2024 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of President of Mongolia H.E. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Nataša Pirc Musar is paying a State Visit to Mongolia on August 20-21, 2024. During the State Visit, the two Heads of State signed a Mongolia-Slovenia Joint Declaration on August 20, 2024.

In the Joint Declaration between Mongolia and the Republic of Slovenia, the two sides affirmed their commitments to ensuring peace, security, and environmental sustainability, achieving sustainable development, upholding human rights for all, and particularly, supporting proposals and initiatives that contribute to global efforts to promote gender equality and women's rights in all social sectors, increasing women's participation in mitigating climate change, biodiversity loss, combating desertification, and ensuring food security.
Furthermore, the two sides agreed to expand friendly relations and cooperation by aligning Mongolia's peaceful, open, independent, multi-pillar foreign policy and its "third neighbor policy" with the Republic of Slovenia's commitment to peace, security, prosperity, good bilateral relations, and a strong multilateral system with the UN at its center.
Also, the following documents were signed.
“Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of Mongolia and the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia”
The two sides will implement joint projects and programs, increase tourist numbers, and develop internationally competitive sustainable tourism. The two countries will cooperate in conducting joint research on tourism products, services, and opportunities, intensifying tourism marketing and advertising, developing eco-tourism, and protecting natural resources and cultural heritage.
“Letter of Intent to Establish an Intergovernmental Agreement on Aviation Relations”
The Letter of Intent to Establish an Intergovernmental Agreement on Aviation Relations is crucial for creating a legal framework to conduct flights, facilitating the travel conditions of people and businesses, and fostering trade and economic relations and cooperation between the two countries.
“Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Forestry between the National Forest Agency of Mongolia and the Slovenia Forest Service and Slovenian Forestry Agency”
Mongolia and Slovenia will maintain a stable, long-term cooperation focused on developing forestry and sustainable forest management. The two countries will collaborate on combating desertification, soil degradation, and erosion, exchanging best practices in tree planting, reforestation, and forest restoration, introducing advanced agroforestry technologies and equipment, creating resources and opportunities to leverage forests for economic, tourism, social, and cultural benefits, and contributing to Mongolia's "One Billion Trees" National Campaign.
“Memorandum of Understanding between the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Slovenia”
The two sides will expand cooperation, co-organize business meetings and forums, support investment, and business projects, foster start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises, develop industry cooperation, provide business advice and recommendations, organize joint business meetings and other events, and facilitate networking among entrepreneurs.
