Seymour hoping for another chance in NRL

Sacked Cronulla halfback Brett Seymour says he wants another chance to complete his
NRL ambitions.
Seymour was sacked on Wednesday following an alcohol-related incident, his third
breach of the club's policy this year.
Seymour was shown the door just months after being fined and suspended for two
matches after being caught on camera heavily intoxicated.
The 24-year-old playmaker had previously been shown the door by Brisbane following a
string of alcohol-related incidents but says he would like another chance in the
NRL.
"I've got a lot more I want to achieve in the game," Seymour told the Ten Network.
"For me, this is not the way I want to end it. I just hope someone can give me an
opportunity in the future."
But NRL chief executive David Gallop has seemingly shut the door on Seymour
returning to the competition, at least in the short term.
"The NRL would need to be convinced that it was in both the player's best interests
and the game's best interests that he move to another club and our current view is
that Brett would not be accepted for registration for some time," Gallop said in a
statement on Wednesday.
Seymour said he was looking at a possible move to England but that would have its
own problems with a drink driving conviction from last year likely to make it hard
for him to get a work visa.
"The Super League cut-off is July 17 so we don't have much time to work in but
hopefully something comes up in the next week or so and we can go from there," he
said.
"It's been a tough 24 hours, certainly. It leaves an uncertain future with what's
gone down at the moment."
