Iron and Steel Production Accelerated at Haeju Steel Works

 Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers of the Haeju Steel Works in the DPRK boost the production of iron and steel by dint of science and technology.
The works mapped out a detailed plan for technical development and has encouraged all its officials and workers to take an active part in the sci-tech development.
It has made a fair assessment of excellent technical innovation proposals to ensure profitability in production and management.
Its technicians and skilled workers improved the structure of medium-frequency induction furnace and newly built a ladle heating furnace, thus extending the life span and productivity of the furnace.
They replaced additives used in the desulfurization process with locally available raw materials and established a process of producing rolls.
They have also designed and manufactured jigs and equipment for making combustion model and combined the magnetic separator with a grinder to improve the quality of fire-proof materials.
The works has carried out its daily, weekly and monthly production plans while waging a socialist patriotic movement, revolutionary mass movement. -0-
