Iran, Russia review nuclear cooperation
– Iran and Russia on Tuesday discussed new ways for the expansion of peaceful nuclear cooperation.
Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Saeedi held talks with Head of Russia's Rosatom State Atomic Corporation Sergei Kiriyenko.
The two sides exchanged views on progress made in construction of Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran and set the exact date for its inauguration.
“The Iranian delegation and officials of Russia’s Rosatom held talks in a positive and constructive atmosphere,” Saeedi told IRNA.
“During bilateral talks, the sides drew plans for future cooperation in nuclear fields,” he added.
The Iranian delegation, headed by Saeedi, arrived in Moscow to hold talks with officials of Rosatom.
Kiriyenko has earlier said that Bushehr power plant should become operational by 2009.
