Miserable End of "Undefeated Division"

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Recorded in the history of the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War are the battle results that the Korean People's Army annihilated the "undefeated division" of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces, in only ten-odd days.
The 24th Infantry Division of the U.S. imperialists, which had been notorious for committing massacres in wars of aggression, including the American War of Independence and the Civil War, bragged that it would turn the tide of the Korean War by entering the war earlier than others.
President Kim Il Sung put forward the strategic policy for the first stage of the war to launch an immediate counterattack against the U.S. imperialists' sudden armed invasion, thus dealing devastating blows to the aggressors from the beginning of the war.
The "Smith commandos", an advance unit of the 24th Infantry Division of the U.S. imperialists who had been dropped on the Osan area, met wholesale deaths by KPA units' fierce attacks and became the first fleeing unit.
As the 19th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. army, the main force for defending the River Kum, was annihilated, the enemy's "best defensive position" collapsed like a sand castle.
The 24th Infantry Division of the U.S. imperialists fell into a more miserable plight in Taejon.
The U.S. imperialists strengthened their defence in Taejon area with all the forces of the 24th Infantry Division and the remnants of the puppet army, while making desperate efforts to turn the tide of the war.
True to the plan of the President who clarified tactics for the operation for laying siege to Taejon, the KPA units which completely encircled the enemies in a moment broke through the defensive positions and liberated Taejon in a matter of seven hours through vigorous strenuous street combats.
The flag of the 24th Division of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces was torn to pieces and trampled down by a KPA soldier. Division commander Dean was captured while fleeing in soldier's uniform to Mt Kum, and the prestige of the U.S. was gone.
The miserable end of the "undefeated division" which met crushing defeats in several battles including the ones in Osan and Taejon clearly showed the world that the myth of the "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists was shattered and that the U.S. imperialist aggression forces were neither invincible nor undefeated. -0-
