Iran Wants To Sign Mou With Malaysia On Agriculture - Mohamad

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu said that the Iranian government wishes to establish a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malaysia in the field of agriculture and has sent the first draft to the ministry.

Mohamad expressed strong confidence that the MoU would provide a solid foundation for enhancing cooperation between Malaysia and Iran in the field.

"I am very pleased and look forward to this cooperation as it will bring significant benefits to both countries," he said in a Facebook post.

He said this was stated by Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi when the latter called on him Wednesday at the Farmers Organisation Authority Tower here.

During the meeting, Mohamad said he informed Nasrabadi that the ministry, through the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), is still awaiting positive feedback from Iran for approval to import Arian chickens.
