Four people die on Qld roads in a day

An elderly woman has become the fourth person to die on Queensland roads on Tuesday.
The woman, aged in her mid-70s, was hit by a car on Calam Road at Sunnybank Hills,
in Brisbane's south, about 5.15pm (AEST), police say.
Earlier in the day, a 25-year-old woman was killed when her car rolled on the
Warrego Highway at Miles about 8.15am.
A six-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl suffered minor injuries and were treated
at Miles Hospital.
In a separate crash, a 68-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy were killed when a
semi-trailer they were travelling in hit an embankment in far north Queensland.
An eight-year-old girl survived the crash on the Kennedy Highway at Millaa Millaa
about 4.30am, but was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries, police said.
It was the second double fatality in two days after two children were killed in a
minibus crash near Mundubbera in southern Queensland on Monday.
