Thailand’s Srettha Tests Positive For COVID-19

BANGKOK, June 17 (Bernama) -- Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin confirmed Sunday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

 

Srettha announced on his official X account that he will be taking sick leave due to the diagnosis.

 

"I have been feeling unwell since last week and developed a slight fever, so I decided to get tested for peace of mind. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to my colleagues and clients who have been in close contact with me recently," he said here Sunday.

 

Srettha assured that he will recover and return to work as soon as possible.

 

According to his X account, Srettha had been visiting Hua Hin, including its railway station and airport, over the weekend.
