In A Recorded Speech Within The Global Security Forum… PM: Iraq Has Won The Battle Against Terrorism Despite All Obstacles

Baghdad (NINA) - Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani delivered a recorded speech as part of the work of the Global Security Forum held in Doha.

Al-Sudani said in his speech: “I am honored to share with you this ambitious conference, and I extend my sincere thanks to the State of Qatar for hosting this event in further confirmation and strengthening of its position at the forefront of successful experiences in development and construction.”

The Prime Minister praised the focus of attention on the question of security and its sustainable solutions, security in all its aspects and paths that touch the lives of peoples and govern their quest to achieve a decent life in light of sustainable peace.

The Prime Minister continued: It is known what our Iraqi people have endured over the past decades in terms of pain, wars, dictatorship, and confrontations that consumed effort and precious blood and consumed precious time that was not invested in favor of the hopes of our people. With all these obstacles, Iraq was able to overcome the greatest evils and triumphed in the battle of terrorism, and we, as Iraqis, moved from the stage of victory to the stage of development strongly in a stable democracy.”

He concluded by saying: “Our government has committed to changing the state of the Iraqi economy towards openness to fruitful partnerships and diversity of resources, confronting the chronic challenges of unemployment, services, and corruption, fighting poverty, and supporting economic reform in all its forms.”

Al-Sudani stressed, “Security is no longer dependent on a political decision or field action only. It is an interconnected package of procedures, legitimate mutual interests, and fair trade and economic systems.”

Al-Sudani added: “If we support security in all its concepts, with economic interconnectedness that creates solutions and supports confronting challenges, we will find that the causes of unrest will diminish, the chances of provoking strife will decline, the sources of conflicts will diminish, and more resources will be allocated to the development sectors.”

Addressing the forum participants, he said: “It is no secret to you what the aggression against civilians in Gaza and the occupied territories caused, and the weak international position on the Palestinian right. This aggression now threatens the entire region with the spread of conflict. It has also insulted international law and violated the sanctity of blood, and today it represents the greatest threat to the peoples of the region and their stability.”

Al-Sudani called for action to stop the blatant genocide of the Palestinian people, stressing: “This will represent the beginning of a system of mutual trust in our endeavors to achieve security for our peoples and our region, and Iraq will be the first to contribute to restoring life and reconstruction to Gaza and our steadfast people in it.”/ End
