Iran ready to cooperate with Europe on Afghanistan issue

TEHRAN, May 18 (MNA) – Iran's special envoy for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi expressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic to cooperate with Europe on issues related to Afghanistan.

In a post on X social media platform, Kazemi Qomi referred to his meeting with Italy's special representative for Afghanistan, saying that during the meeting he stressed the need for setting the topics and themes of the 3rd Doha summit based on the realities of the region and Afghanistan.

The actions of countries outside the region have not been useful in solving the crisis and challenges of Afghanistan so far, and if this situation continues, the challenges will spill over to Europe as well, he added.

According to the consultations it has with various parties regarding Afghanistan, Iran is ready to define a new cooperation with Europe regarding the development of a comprehensive cooperation plan emphasizing the interests of the nation and the country of Afghanistan, he concluded.
