OIC Chief Slams surging violence in Iraq

Jeddah, June 28, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of
Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin
Ihsanoglu has slammed the violence wave in Iraq which has caused the
killing of hundreds of innocent people and injuries to others.

The perpetrators of these violent acts are enemies of reconciliation
and stability in Iraq, he said, noting that these violent acts run
counter to the teachings of Islam.

These criminals should be brought to justice, he said, reiterating
the support of OIC to the Iraqi government and people.
