Malaysia Carnival in New Delhi Attracts 2,000 People

NEW DELHI, April 28 (Bernama) -- A vibrant celebration of Malaysian culture drew over 2,000 people to the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi on Saturday.

Cultural performances, cuisine, cooking demonstrations, batik canting, and sampling of tropical Malaysian fruits delighted hundreds of families and children throughout the half-day festival held at the High Commission of Malaysia.

"Malaysia Carnival 2024 is part of our cultural diplomacy in India. It is also an effort to showcase Malaysian tourist attractions in preparation for Visit Malaysia 2026," Malaysian High Commissioner Muzafar Shah Mustafa said.

The Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) shipped hundreds of kilogrammes of tropical fruits such as pomelo, dragon fruit, durian, jackfruit, star fruit, sun melon, guava, and pineapple for the occasion.

The Malaysia Carnival 2024 showcased an array of delicious Malaysian cuisine prepared by the Malaysian Foreign Ministry’s Ladies Association (Perwakilan).

On the business side, leading Malaysian companies as well as Indian enterprises made their presence felt through their stalls and sponsorships.

Many families stayed until late evening to enjoy the picnic atmosphere replete with children's games and raffle draws.

A group of students from University Sains Malaysia (USM) studying at KLE University in the Indian state of Karnataka gave captivating cultural performances.
