US officials lack moral authority to lecture on human rights
TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani said that the US officials lack the moral authority to lecture on human rights and the freedom of speech.
"The emergence of unfortunate videos depicting the American police’s violent treatment of university professors who support Palestine and protest against the US support for the criminal Zionist regime, has exposed the disparity between rhetoric and actions in the behavior of the American government before global scrutiny," the senior Iranian diplomat wrote on his X account on Friday night.
"American officials lack the moral authority to lecture on human rights, women's rights, and freedom of speech," Kan'ani stressed.
In recent days, pro-Palestine and anti-war protests have gained momentum across universities in the US leading to the arrest of hundreds of students at Columbia University among others.
