40 Iranian passengers injured as bus veered off road in Iraq
A bus carring Iranian pilgrims veered off the road in Iraq near the city of Khanaqin injuring 40 passengers 15 of them critically.
The bus was carrying 48 Iranian pilgrims returning home after paying pilgrimage to the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.
The bus veered off the road when it got a tire blow-out and overturned afterwards.
Most of the passengers were women.
Fifteen of the injured pilgrims were transferred to a medical center in the city of Sulaimaniyah, northern Iraq due to their critical conditions and the rest of those injured remained in a hospital in Khanaqin, an Iraqi hospital official said.
