Al-Araji confirms: The security of Iraq and Iran is one, and we will not allow Iraq to be a launching pad for attacks on neighboring countries

Baghdad / NINA / -National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji confirmed: “Iraq and Iran are one, and the Iraqi government is keen to implement the security agreement between the two countries.”

The media office of the National Security Advisor stated in a statement: “Al-Araji met with the head of the Iranian judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, at his residence in Baghdad. During the meeting, the historical relations that unite the two countries were reviewed and the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation between Baghdad and Tehran at all levels was reviewed.” 

Al-Araji stressed, according to the statement: “The security of Iraq and Iran is one, and that the Iraqi government is keen to implement the security agreement between the two countries, stressing the importance of working to consolidate the security and stability of the region through the two countries’ cooperation in helping others solve their problems.”

The National Security Advisor reiterated that "the Iraqi government will not allow Iraqi territory to be a launching pad for attacks on neighboring countries or any other country."

Regarding the situation in Gaza, he explained: “Iraq’s firm position is to reject and condemn the killing of innocent people in the Gaza Strip.”

For his part, the head of the Iranian judiciary stressed “the importance of the two countries coming together for the sake of everyone,” stressing “the necessity of making efforts to achieve sustainable security, in a way that achieves the common interests of the countries of the region and the world.”/ End
