The Deputy Speaker Of Parliament Discusses With A UN Official The Easing Of Tensions And The Effects Of Conflicts, Disputes And Military Wars

Baghdad / NINA / -Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, discussed with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis, today, alleviating tensions, disputes and the effects of conflicts and military wars.

 

The media office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated, in a statement: “The head of the Iraqi delegation, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, met on the sidelines of the parliamentary hearing at the United Nations Headquarters for the heads of parliaments of countries of the world, held in the United States of America - New York, with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Denis Francis and a number of issues and topics were discussed, and ways were discussed to exploit cooperation opportunities between the parliaments of countries around the world to devote the goals of the United Nations to establishing international peace and security.

 

During the meeting, the two sides stressed, "to support and assist efforts to achieve peace and sustainable human development, confront challenges and mitigate tensions and the effects of conflicts, disputes and military wars."

 

They stressed "the need to intensify efforts and work hard to stop military operations against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and bring urgent humanitarian aid to them."/End
