AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Tournament's Executive Director of Operations Affirms Pivotal Role of Media Operations in Tournament's Success

Doha, February 08 (QNA) - Executive Director of Operations at the Local Organizing Committee of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Rashid Al khater emphasized the pivotal role of media operations in the tournament's success, noting the keenness of the committee's officials to provide support along with all services and solutions that suit the nature of media work and meet the needs of media representatives to carry out their tasks throughout their presence in Qatar to cover the tournament.
In press remarks, Al Khater pointed out that Qatar reaffirms its prestigious position in the global sports and is proud to contribute to supporting the efforts made to achieve a successful hosting of the crown jewel of the Asian championships and to provide world-class facilities to journalists that suit the scale of the continental event, which witnessed exceptional success at all levels.
The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 attracted more than 2,000 accredited media professionals to cover the tournament's matches and events, in addition to 120 television stations that provided broadcast services to 160 regions around the world. Digital platforms also recorded great participation, making the 18th edition of the tournament the highest interaction and participation across all channels in the history of the continental championship events, marking the most extensive media coverage in the tournament, which witnessed unprecedented media interest on the continent and the world, which reflects Qatar's position in the global sports scene and its ability to host mega sporting events that attract the attention of fans from all over the world.
Media operations services, provided by the Local Organizing Committee for the tournament throughout the continental sporting event, constituted a major factor in achieving this success, with the provision of a range of services, including the main media center, media services for stadiums, in addition to facilitating the conduct of press interviews with the participating teams and tournament officials.
The main media center for the tournament, which is located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, is a meeting place for accredited media professionals and provides journalists and photographers with a range of services and facilities, including work offices, facilities for holding press conferences, in addition to a camera loan and maintenance service. The center also has a rest area.
The center is seen as an essential pillar of the media operations for the tournament and provides various services to media professionals in the stadiums on match days. It also regularly provides transportation services for accredited media representatives between the center, stadiums, and team training sites, ensuring that media professionals are provided with all the facilities that help them perform their tasks. Media personnel platforms in the stadiums provide seats for more than 500 journalists, including sports commentators, while on the stadium floor, 150 seats are provided for accredited photographers.
