Spanish Minister Of Defense To PM: Spain Respects Everything The Iraqi Govt Decides Regarding The Tasks Of The Int’l Coalition

Baghdad / NINA / -The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, received the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles.

Al-Sudani appreciated, according to a statement from his media office, the Spanish role within the efforts of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) mission in Iraq, stressing: “The insistence on the end of the international coalition’s mission in Iraq comes after the Iraqi forces have gained advanced capabilities in combating terrorism and the remnants of ISIS no longer pose a threat to the Iraqi state.”

The Prime Minister referred to the efforts currently being made to conclude a bilateral military memorandum of understanding between Iraq and Spain, which is part of the comprehensive partnership agreement that was discussed with the Spanish Prime Minister during his recent visit to Baghdad, expressing his appreciation for Spain’s positions regarding the aggression in Gaza and its support for the efforts aimed at halting the fire and stop the genocide against the Palestinian people.
