Qatar Participates in Coordination Meeting with Arab League, Egypt on Social Development, Supporting Palestinian People

Doha, February 01 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated Thursday in a meeting with the Arab League General Secretariat and the Arab Republic of Egypt at the AL headquarters in Cairo. 
    The meeting discussed bolstering coordination on the implementation of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs' decisions, and continuing to provide social and humanitarian support to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip who are going through tough challenges, Israeli occupation's unrelented inhumane actions, and an increase in the number of martyrs and wounded.
    HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, who is chaired the previous the 42nd Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs session, represented Qatar's side at the meeting.
    HE Minister of Social Solidarity in the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Nevin Riyad Al Kabbaj represented Egypt, which assumes the chairmanship of the current 43rd Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs session. 
    HE Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, and head of social affairs sector who also heads AL's social affairs sector, said the meeting discussed preparations for holding the High-Level Arab Multidimensional Social Development Forum, which is organized by the State of Qatar on Feb. 7-8, and the implementation of a resolution adopted by the AL summit and the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs that adopts the Second Arab Decade of Disabled Persons 2023-2032.
    The meeting also dealt with preparing to implement an Egyptian initiative to establish an Arab mechanism to link social development institutions and banks under the umbrella of the Arab League. 
    On the sidelines of the meeting, HE Al Misnad was honored for her efforts to enhance joint Arab social development work, strengthen Egyptian-Qatari relations in the social fields and humanitarian aid, and the important initiatives that took place at the Arab level in the various social and humanitarian fields during Her Excellency's chairmanship of the 42nd Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs session.(QNA)
