Qatar Charity and Partners Launch "Future’s Writers-7"

 
Doha, January 29 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) launched the 7th edition of the "Future's Writers" program, which focuses on developing creative writing skills in school and university students. The event was attended by representatives of the program’s partners and sponsor. Participating in this edition, are 241 schools for boys and girls, in addition to Al Noor Center for the Blind, Audio Education Complex, Qatar University, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Community College, Lusail University, and the universities of the Education City. Director of the Local Programs and Community department at Qatar Charity Abdulrahman Al Hajri stated that the significance of this program reflects Qatar Charity's commitment to various developmental aspects when preparing and implementing its programs and projects, both within and without the country. He added that in alignment with the Qatar Nation Vision 2030, the program focuses on contributing to cultural development by discovering and nurturing creative and literary talents, providing the community with new writers who contribute to the intellectual and cognitive development of their community and nation. He pointed out that over the past six years, the number of participants in the program has reached 7,650 male and female students at school and university-levels, including persons with special needs. The number of winners in the program's competitions has reached 120 promising writers. Director of the Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Maryam Al Emadi stated that the ministry's participation for the seventh consecutive year in holding the "Future's Writers" program together with Qatar Charity stems from the ministry’s vision and mission. She noted that the ministry seeks to improve student creative writing potential and discover their latent talents. Isa Abdullah, Director of Planning and Programs at the Qatari Forum for Authors, a Ministry of Culture affiliate, expressed his pride in the continued success of this program, which speaks of the interested response it receives, thanks to it enabling gifted students to foster their talents and direct them in the right direction towards producing literary works. Muna Al Khuzaei, Director of Marketing and Communication Relations at Dukhan Bank, the sponsor of the program, said, "At the bank, we believe in the importance of supporting the capabilities of the younger generations, assisting them in developing their skills, and achieving their future hopes and goals." Director of Student Activities at Qatar University Abdullah Hamed Al Mulla expressed his pride at QU's diverse partnerships with state institutions, including Qatar Charity, a close partner in social and cultural enrichment, supporting QU’s mission and aiding it to achieve its 2030 strategic vision. He added that QU's objective out of such programs is to graduate confident, knowledgeable, and skillful students who add to their social surrounding and are well-equipped for the labor market.
